It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

It is also beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! This week we had our Christmas Enrichment with a nice little play about Mary and her feeling toward baby Jesus. I was able to take my friend with me and try to put her in the care of other sisters in the ward during this holiday season (the first since the passing of her husband and coming to the one year mark of its occurrance). I also made and delivered my Christmas goodies to the ladies I visit teach. Randy is making red and green braided bread for his home teaching families today and tomorrow we will deliver more goodies with a carol to the neighbors for FHE. We made painted little plastic ornaments for our tree this last week and have enjoyed giving a few of them out to friends...and the sister missionaries who stopped by one night to use the bathroom and grab Randy to sit in on a lesson with them. We will each keep one ornament and add them to the collection that each child will have to take with them when (heaven forbid) they are big enough to leave home. Making ornaments, caroling to the neighbors with Christmas goodies, secret Santa's and Brownies, and stockings are some of my favorite Christmas traditions from my childhood.

Yesterday we attempted to get a lot more accomplished than we actually did. Randy took the kids to the monthly craft making at Home Depot while I took a nap and then went to the temple. I had tried to go on Friday but Paul had a fever and neither one of us had gotten much sleep for several nights in a row. I was really glad that he slept through the night again last night! In the evening we enjoyed playing games with some friends in the ward.

The rest of the week was filled with regular weekly stuff...laundry, dishes, library, shopping, studying, reading, playing, meetings, etc. One day I kept the kids busy with making snowflakes to decorate the house...it adds nicely and on Saturday, we got some real snow outside to bring the real Christmas feeling!
