Perspective, it can make a world of difference...

In how you view things like the following:

-Family Home Evening spent trying to get children to put down the toys, sit in one place for more than two seconds, and listen to the new reader mumble through the "lesson" that was pulled from the drawer immediately before attempting to give it. Not a disaster but a chance for Randy and I to discuss how we can make it better, strengthen our lessons, and use the precious moments to teach our children the vital doctrines of the gospel.

-Daddy's meetings for scouts nearly every night. Mary Joy asked on Friday after we had had spent the evening having dinner and playing games with some of our neighbors if Daddy was ready to go to his meeting. When I told her how great it was that he didn't have a meeting that night, she wondered why!? She thinks getting her turn to go with Daddy to a meeting is something special and looking forward to her next turn. Mommy finally got her turn to go to a scout meeting with Daddy this week. I found a babysitter to attend the District Dinner...well missed the dinner part and came as a surprise to support Randy as he presented awards to others after working on carving and painting plaques himself for the last couple of weeks, and be able to join in congratulating him on receiving one of the District Scouter Awards saying thanks for extra work and effort that he gave to scouting...he deserved it in my HUMBLE opinion! :)

-Reading a book praising stay-at-home-moms. It was a little hard for me to know if I should go ahead and finish reading the book or follow its instructions and go play with the kids and tell my husband just how wonderful I think he is. Are these things suppose to make you feel guilty for not wanting to play house or cars for every moment of the day for the first five years of a child's life or to help you see just what a priviledge it is to have sweet children and remind you to take advantage of the sweet moments, the teaching moments, and the moments that fill your heart so full of love and joy that you think you just might explode with it!?
