Spring is a great time for Mother's Day because...

"Dear Mother, all flowers remind me of you." I have been getting lots of flowers this spring...blossoms from all the trees in the neighborhood, buttercups, mints, and dandelions from the yards. We have also collected some new pets... rolypoly potato bugs, a nymph cicada, a slug, and do all the ants that have recently invaded the kitchen count?

Today I heard some lovely messages of mothers...and hoped to become more like mine. I received three lovely paper and pipe-cleaner flowers with attached cards from my primary children as well as getting to hear their lovely singing (which I missed last year since I was on a Mother's Day trip...you can reread that blog later if you want but I realized that at that time I had a 9 month-old and this year I have a 2 1/2 month old! How blessed I have been...my arms are constantly full and so is my heart!)

Here is some of Ada's artwork that I have been meaning to share with my brother Joe. The book it is in is entitled "ADAS spiriTual BOOK" and it contains mostly pictures of when Ada was scared and got help or comfort and other times when she felt the Spirit of the Holy Ghost. The first one is being scared about a shot and the second is from when we went swimming with Joe and Phyllisa. The current river started pulling Ada around and Uncle Joe saved her.

Here we have Randy finally getting a short nap with the sweet neighbor baby that we were watching. With a little cuddling she fell right asleep in Randy's arms and gave him an excuse to stop what he was working on and rest. Well, as much as he could rest with Paul running over to poke him and point out his eyes, ears, mouth, and nose. It was another week of scouts for him and we were glad to have those meetings over though as we discussed it on our Friday night date (to get Chinese take-out and eat a picnic on the grass nearby while a ward member watched the kids for a few minutes until we could come back and Randy could work on fixing her computer), I realized that it didn't end. We have another week of scouting ahead of us...and after that, I think, it calms down a little. Randy has also received an offer to do some statistical consulting for a group at USU. We have to talk to my Dad about the tax issues with that but it seems they just want a couple hours of his time a week (so do I but I don't have the money to pay for it:))
Back to the photo, after the pillow was over his face he was exposed to the girls who dressed up in their lovely attire and put on a concert (see next photo).

Here they are in all of their princess glory. They told me they were playing Mulan. We received a lovely concert and then they spent their time creating lovely paper crowns. Ada is a master of this art and make many paper crowns, hats, and other creations each week. Notice the baby she is wearing in her own baby carrier pouch!

Ada and Peter are playing soccer this spring but we keep getting rain on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We finally did get to play this week. I get to be Ada's coach and all the children are so cute and fun to play with.

Here is Peter who loves a good book and getting his picture taken. I think right now he is reading some from the Chronicles of Narnia and a book about Hieroglyphs. He is working on preparing for his baptism in September.

Mary Joy got to give her first talk in primary this week about how baptism and confirmation bless our family. She talked about how having Peter experience these things helps him to return to Heavenly Father but also that as he keeps the promises that he is making to the Lord, he will bring the Spirit into our home and show love and kindness to all.

Next week I'll have to see if I can add the pictures of Paul covered in mud and Levi laying in his bouncer chair which has been broken apart with him in it by a loving and adoring older sister or brother who just can't keep their hands from constantly "loving" him!

I don't remember helping Ada in the current river, but I'm glad that she felt comforted by my assistance. :) Thanks for sharing!
